The Nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) battery is an improvement from nickel-cadmium (NiCd) battery as it replaces cadmium with a metal that can absorb hydrogen.
Nickel-metal Hydride batteries can provide a higher capacity, have less obvious memory effects, and are more environmentally friendly.
High-discharge rate Ni-MH battery
However, Nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) batteries are generally not suitable for high-rate charging and discharging. They are widely used in model toys and electric tools and are safer to use than lithium batteries.
Normally, the Nickel Metal Hydride battery could be discharged with a maximum 3C rate, but Grepow’s batteries can achieve the maximum rate of 15C.
There are three different series of Grepow Nickel Metal Hydride batteries that have a high discharge rate:
Our “LP” series, which stands for low power. This means the medium discharge rate is within a 5C rating. Then we have the “HP” series, which stands for high power. This means that it has a discharge rating of 10C. And the “UP” series, this stands for Ultra-high Power.
This series normally has a 10C or 30 (Amps) discharge rating, and can have a rating that reaches a maximum of 15C.
