How to customize a Li-ion battery

Custom Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) batteries have been the demand of more and more product vendors, but general product companies lack battery engineers, battery design, and other capabilities. However, it is difficult for small factories to provide customization services, for they have limited R&D and production capacity with higher requirements for customization of small sample quantities. What is a custom battery?

Custom by capacity

Calculate whether the capacity of the battery can meet the user’s demand for endurance time according to the power consumption of the product.

Custom by C-Rate

Some special products will have certain requirements for the C-Rate (multiplier), such as electronic cigarettes (vapes), drones, car emergency starter power (jump starter), and electric supercars. High current charging and discharging performance is the primary consideration of the battery to meet the demand for fast charging or high burst power.

Temperature-based customization

The best working temperature of a lithium battery is about 25℃, and the general working temperature range is -20℃ to 50℃, but if in the special high and low-temperature environment, the capacity of lithium battery will decay sharply, affecting the life, or even can not be used normally, so special customized high-temperature lithium battery or low-temperature lithium battery is needed.
